On October 24th, Gregory Halpern will be presenting his latest monograph, "King, Queen, Knave," published by Mack, for the first time in Italy.

The event kicks off at 8:00 PM at the Sugar Paper venue in Modena.

Gregory will be joining via live stream in conversation with journalist and critic Luca Fiore.

Gregory Halpern's King, Queen, Knave is a mesmerizing photographic journey spanning over two decades in and around his hometown of Buffalo, New York. This lyrical monograph captures a city steeped in contradictions, where familiar scenes of post-industrial decline give way to moments of surreal beauty and enigmatic transcendence. Through a sequence that alternates between delicacy and despair, Halpern's images embrace the shifting seasons and the complex realities of everyday life, offering a deeply personal yet universal meditation on the intersection of beauty, ugliness, redemption, and uncertainty in contemporary America.

Please note, the lecture won’t be live-streamed on our social channels. If you want to attend, you’ll need to be there in person.

After the presentation, there’ll be a Q&A session where you can chat with the author.

The event is for Sugar Paper members only, but don’t worry—you can sign up for membership on the night.
